Literary session with Professor Sabir at Brahvi Academy

QUETTA: A literary get-to-gather was arranged with the prominent literary personality of the province and Vice Chancellor of University of Turbat, Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir by the Brahvi Adabi Society here the other day.
The Chairman of Brahvi Academy, Abdul Qayum Baidar, Vice Chairman Professor Sosan Brahvi, Director of Pakistan Academy of Letters Quetta, Afzal Murad and the members of the society were in attendance.
Prominent others present in the sitting were: Noor Khan Muhammad Hassani, Waheed Zaheer, Mir Muhammad Ulfat, Professor Khuda Dad Gul, Hanif Mizaj, Aziz Baidar, Ahsan Shahwani and Mir Sajjad.
The members of the Brahvi Society had a detailed interaction with Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, and obviously, the discussion was about literature of different languages in general and Brahvi literature in particular.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sabir noted with contentment that a significant work is going on today in Balochistan’s literature.
The writers of the province are extensively engaged in the literary activities and that creating the literature which basically is aimed at highlighting the disparities in the society and finding solution to them.
Meanwhile, he also inspected the Brahvi Kitab Markaz (book center) and described it a good initiative.
The Brahvi studying writers, scholars, researchers and students would be able to have the rich collection of the books in Brahvi language at a single center.
Chairman of the Academy, Abdul Qayum Baidar on the occasion said that this academy together with other literary organizations are playing key role in promotion of the book culture. He said that it is a matter of immense pleasure for us to have our teacher (Dr. Sabir) within us today.
It is because of his efforts and advices that Brahvi Academy has gained prominence and distinguished place in the literary world.
Professor Sosan Brahvi also hailed the establishment of Brahvi Kitab Markaz as a very good initiative and said that it would help promote the culture of book reading.
The Regional Director of PAL Quetta, Afzal Murad welcomed Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir and appreciated his invaluable contribution in promotion of the Brahvi literature.
