PDMA cautions ahead of Monsoon rains:
Chief Secretary directs provincial departments’,
divisional commissioners to adopt preemptive
steps to tackle any emergent situation as a
result of Monsoon rains all over province

QUETTA: The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Saifullah Chattha has directed to the secretaries of all the concerned administrative departments as well as the divisional commissioners to complete the necessary preparations for the forthcoming Monsoon rains well in time so as to be saved from any untoward incident.
This directive, he issued while chairing a meeting held to review the situation of the Monsoon rains and the preparations and precautionary measures taken and being taken for the seasonal rainy season in the province, here the other day.
The senior Member Board of Revenue, Qamar Masood, Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Tariq Munir Minhas, representative of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Secretaries of the provincial government departments and divisional commissioners were present.
The DG PDMA, Tariq Munir Minhas briefed the meeting about the preparations on part of his department.
Briefing the meeting, Tahir Minhas said that there would be lesser rains of Monsoon in Balochistan this year than last year. However, flood like situation could happen in a few districts, a conscious DG PDMA maintained.
However, the Authority has adopted all necessary precautionary measures to tackle any emergent situation if emerged following the Monsoon rains.
The Chief Secretary on the occasion directed to all the concerned authorities to take preemptive measures ahead of the Monsoon rains.
Earlier, the secretaries and divisional commissioners also briefed the meeting about the measures taken by their respective departments and administration to handle any emergent situation.
