All Pakistan T-20 Cup Cricket gets underway in Quetta

QUETTA: All Pakistan T-20 Cup Cricket Tournament 2015 got underway here at the Bugti Cricket Stadium the other day.
In all 26 teams from all over the country would be taking part in the national level cricket event, which features four teams from Balochistan comprising the players from all the six divisions as well.
This and similar other details were provided by the Deputy Inspector General of Frontier Corps (FC), Brigadier Tahir Mehmood while talking to the media persons at the Bugti Stadium here the other day.
The Manager Bugti Stadium, Mansoor Khan, President Manan Memorial Gymkhana and cricket organizer, Muhammad Khair and other concerned were also present there.
The DIG FC mentioned that the national level T-20 cricket competition is being organized with support of the Southern Command and Balochistan Government in order to promote harmony and peace besides giving a good soft image of Quetta, Balochistan through sports.
The tournament is being played in two phases. While the first phase has been started engaging the regional teams in the event, the second phase involving the teams from other parts of the country would be started from June 26.
An exhibitory match between Pakistan – XI and Balochistan – XI would also be played at start of the main round of the tournament.
The current and former cricket stars of the country would be seen in action in the crucial match to be played at the Bugti Stadium.
The DIG FC on the occasion said that the FC is serving for the cause of health, education and sports in addition to fight the issue of terrorism in the province.
He also said that we are trying to change the image of Quetta and the province. Such sports competitions would help promote positive image of the area besides contributing in the cause of formation of a healthy and peaceful society, he maintained.
Brigadier Tahir on the occasion also referred to the contribution of FC in renovation of the Bugti Stadium and provision of other facilities there.
