QUETTA: Two-day national conference on the role of literature and writers in formation of a peaceful society is scheduled to begin today (Saturday) at the Officers’ Club.
The Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch would be chief guest at inaugural session of the conference, which would be followed by a Mushaira (poetry session) to be held tomorrow (Sunday).
The Vice Chancellor of University of Balochistan, Professor Dr. Javed Iqbal and Vice Chancellor, University of Turbat, Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir would be the guests of honour at the inaugural session.
The Chairman of PAL, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Bhugyo and other literary personalities and poets would be participating in the conference and Mushaira.
The prominent intellectual and Director General Social Welfare Department, Dr. Kahoor Baloch would deliver a key note address at inaugural session of the conference.
Later, three literary sessions would be held at end of the inaugural session. The prominent literary personality of the country, Saleem Raz would preside over the first literary session while Jamil Ahmed Pal and Abdul Saboor Baloch would preside over the second and third sessions respectively.
Meanwhile, the closing session of the conference is scheduled to be held tomorrow (Sunday) where the Advisor to the Government of Balochistan for Economic Affairs, Dr. Qaiser Bengali is likely to be the chief guest.
