QUETTA: The extra-ordinary Inject-able Polio Vaccination (IPV) campaign was launched in Naseerabad and Jhal Magsi districts.
According to sources of the Provincial Health Department, the children below five years of age would be administered inject-able vaccine during the drive, which would remain continued till June 18, 2015.
The similar campaign of IPV is scheduled to be launched in Jaffarabad district from next week.
The IPV campaign, needless to mention here, is part of the government’s initiatives being taken to double ensure that the crippling virus is fully eradicated from the province.
Initially, it was decided that the campaign would be launched in the high risk districts of the province. While the campaign has already been driven in Quetta, Pishin and Killa Abdullah districts, it is being launched in three other districts now.
Meanwhile, the routine Oral Polio Vaccination campaign is in progress in Zhob District where the children below five years of age are being vaccinated against polio.
The sources of Health department told that a similar campaign is also going to be launched in Shirani district from June 15 (Monday).
The campaign had been postponed there due to the security reasons earlier.
