Continuous struggle underway against drugs: DG SWD

QUETTA: Director General of Social Welfare Department (SWD), Dr. Kahoor Baloch has stated that our continuous struggle is continued against the narcotics so as to rid the society of this menace.
This, he stated while addressing a ceremony held as part of the awareness campaign against narcotics here at the Government Girls College Quetta Cantonment the other day.
The campaign has been launched by the SWD Government of Balochistan on special directives of the Chief Secretary, Saifullah Chattha.
Also present on the occasion were the Principal of Government Girls College, Professor Ms. Shagufta Iqbal, Administrator of Social Welfare Department, lecturers and students of the College.
The DG SWD maintained that the awareness campaign against the use of narcotics is a great cause, which can’t be fulfilled without the active participation of youth.
He said that role of youth is vital in development of society. We are striving for prevention of drugs in the society so that it is free from that menace, he maintained.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal of the College, Professor Shagufta Iqbal also spoke at length about the importance of awareness in prevention of the menace of narcotics.
She said that taking narcotics is haram in our religion, so it must be prohibited.
