Opposition announces boycott of meeting on formation of standing committees in BA

QUETTA: The Leader of Opposition in Balochistan Assembly, Maulana Abdul Wasey has announced to boycott the meeting convened by the provincial government in connection with formation of the Standing Committees of the assembly.
Talking to the media here, Maulana Abdul Wasey mentioned that the government has given chairman-ship of just two Standing Committees instead of five ones.
He claimed that as per the rules, the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) used to be the Opposition Leader, but a “Blue-eyed†person has been named as the Chairman of PAC in the Assembly.
He charged that the government wants to keep the chairmanship of the PAC with it allegedly just to hide its corruption.
Maulana Abdul Wasey said that until and unless the government does consultation with the Opposition, we would continue to observe boycott of the meetings regarding formation of the Standing Committees.
Needless to mention here is that the Core Committee formed for formulation of the Standing Committees in the provincial assembly had named their chairmen.
