Route OPV campaign begins in Shirani district today

QUETTA: The routine Oral Polio Vaccination campaign is scheduled to be launched in Shirani district from today (Monday).
This was informed by the sources of Provincial Health Department here the other day. During the campaign, the children below five years of age would be administered the vaccine.
It may be mentioned here that the campaign had been postponed there due to the security reasons earlier.
While the campaign is being launched in Shirani today, the similar campaign has just concluded in the neighbor Zhob District the other day.
While on the other hand, the extra-ordinary Inject-able Polio Vaccination (IPV) campaign is in progress in Naseerabad and Jhal Magsi districts.
According to sources, the children below five years of age would be administered inject-able vaccine during the drive.
The campaign is scheduled to remain continued till June 18, 2015.
The similar campaign of IPV is scheduled to be launched in Jaffarabad district from next week.
The IPV campaign, needless to mention here, is part of the government’s initiatives being taken to double ensure that the crippling virus is fully eradicated from the province.
