Awareness walk held marking Blood Donor’s Day

QUETTA: An awareness walk was arranged in connection with the World Blood Donor Day here in the provincial metropolis.
The walk was organized under the auspices of Provincial Health Department. The Provincial Minister for Health, Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch led the walk.
Also participated in the walk was by the Member Provincial Assembly, Ms. Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, Provincial Secretary for Health, Noorul Haq Baloch, the head of the Hematology Department, Dr. Luqman Butt, District Health Officer, Dr. Shah Jahan Paenzai, Dr. Nadeem Samad, Medical Superintendent of Sandeman Provincial Headquarter Hospital, besides other senior doctors as well as patients of Thalassaemia and their parents.
The walk got started from the Thalassaemia Care Center adjacent to the Nursing College on Jinnah Road and terminated at the Sandeman Hospital.
Meanwhile, a function was also arranged at the Post graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) in the Sandeman Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister Health said that it is our utmost endeavour to provide basic health facilities to the people all over the province particularly with the focus on the remote areas.
Dr. Luqman Butt also spoke on the occasion. He highlighted the aims and objectives of the awareness campaign in connection with the Blood Donor Day.
He stressed the need to promote culture of blood donation in our society to help save lives of the people in need.
