QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch has issued standing directives to all the divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners to make the price control committees more effective as well as establish an effective monitoring system against the profiteers during the holy month of Ramadanul Mubarak.
According to an official hand out issued here the other day, the Chief Minister also directed them to maintain law and order situation during the holy month.
The Chief Minister stressed that the divisional commissioners should visit the districts fall in their respective divisions and review the prices of edibles and other commodities on regular basis. They should also review the facilities being provided to the consumers in their respective divisions, the Chief Minister directed further.
The steps should also be taken to remove the hurdles coming in way of provision of relief to the masses, the Chief Minister maintained.
Moreover, the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts were also directed to appoint the special magistrates in the districts to take action against the profiteers.
Those involved in profiteering should be punished severely charging them fine, it was directed further.
Meanwhile, sasta bazaars have been set up at two different places including the Bacha Khan Chowk and Railway Football Ground Joint Road.
According to an official hand out, the bazaars have been set up to provide relief to the people during the month of Ramadanul Mubarak, on directives of the Commissioner Quetta Division, Kambar Dashti and in supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Dawood Khan Khilji.
The Assistant Commissioner Saddar and Assistant Commissioner City have been assigned the duties of Incharges of the bazaars.
The decision to the effect of setting up of bazaars was made during a meeting of the Deputy Commissioner with representatives of different trader organizations, market committee and other concerned in order to provide relief to the masses and surely provide them the edibles on cheaper rates at a single platform.
The edibles and daily used items have been made available in these sasta bazaars, the official hand mentioned.
