QESCO expedites crackdown against power bill utility defaulters

Electricity connections of many defaulting
domestic, commercial and agricultural
consumers cut off in various areas

QUETTA: The Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) has speeded up action against the defaulters in Quetta and other parts of the province.
The QESCO sources said that the special campaign of power disconnection was continued under supervision of the superintending engineers and recovery incharges of all the operation circles, on special directives of the Chief Executive Officer of QESCO, Engineer Balighuz Zaman and Director Operation, Rafiq Ahmed Noonari.
The sources said that several connections of defaulting domestic, commercial as well as public and private and agricultural tube wells were cut off in different parts of the province.
In Central Circle Quetta, the teams led by the Superintending Engineer, Abdul Karim Baloch and Executive Engineer, Zarghoon Division disconnected the electricity connections of six agricultural tube wells in the jurisdiction of Marriabad Sub-Division.
In addition to it, 37 connections of the defaulter domestic and commercial consumers were also disconnected in the QESCO Kacherhry Sub-Division.
A team led by the Incharge Recovery Campaign, QESCO Sibi Circle, Ahmed Hussain Lehri suspended power supply of 193 domestic and 19 commercial defaulters removing nine transformers in Splinji area of Sibi Sub-Division.
Similarly, seven transformers of the defaulters were also removed in Jaffarabad Sub-Division on non-payment of the dues.
While on the other hand, the power connections of 269 domestic and 39 commercial consumers were also disconnected in Naseerabad Sub-Division.
In Loralai circle, the crackdown was made in Loralai, Pishin, Killa Abdullah and Killa Saifullah.
As many as 43 transformers of the defaulters were also removed in the areas including Nalai, Azaam, Maikhtar, Killi Molvi Usman, Rahat Colony and different other areas. Similarly, 22 more illegal connections were also disconnected in Murgha Kibzai, Maizai Bandat and few other areas in the same circle.
Moreover, under QESCO Khuzdar circle, the team led by Executive Engineer Khuzdar, Sadiq Ali conducted raids in different areas of Khuzdar, in collaboration with the district administration.
In all 27 connections of the agricultural tube wells were disconnected in Khuzadar and Baghbana areas of the same circle.
During the raid, 20 defaulters were also charged with fine on the charges of theft of the electricity.
Meanwhile, the QESCO has appealed to all the defaulters to pay their arrears immediately so that they may not face any issue in future.
