Govt. continues to attach top priority to education: Nawab Shahwani

QUETTA: The Minister Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani has stated that the present government attached top priority to education sector in the province.
He was addressing the one-day conference on “education service in Balochistan” held here at the headquarter of Balochistan Boy Scouts Association the other day.
Also present on the occasion were the Additional Secretary for Education, Muhammad Tayyab Lehri, Executive Director of HAR, Munir Ahmed Sarfraz, leader of National Party, Ms. Shazia Lango, Programme Officer Action AID, Ms. Paveen Naz, leader of the Balochistan National Party, Agha Khalid, District Education Officer, Khuzdar, Muhammad Zikria Shahwani, Station Director of Raiod Pakistan Khuzdar, Sultan Ahmed Shahwani, representative of Azat Foundation, Gul Khan Naseer, representative of the UNESCO, Qaiser Jamali, besides others.
The Minister S&GAD said that in view of its importance, the maximum funds were allocated for the cause of education. The initiatives taken in education sector are yielding positive results, he mentioned adding that the sector is progressing in the right direction.
He also said that our bright future is based on education for the government has given extra ordinary attention towards education. We are determined to spread light of knowledge in every nook and corner of the province, he said.
Educational development would provide a base for an educated and literate Balochistan, Nawab Shahwani said.
This is education through which the nations are ruling over the world, so our focus should also be on acquiring quality education, he stressed.
If we are able to impart quality education to the students then we could dream for high goal of development, the Minister said.
Speaking on the occasion, the Additional Secretary for Education, Muhammad Tayyab Lehri referred to the steps taken and being taken by the department for development of education in the province. He said that the steps including recruitment of teachers through National Testing System (NTS), elimination of tendency of cheating in the examinations and increase in the budget for education would surely help develop education sector and improve standard of education in the province, which otherwise was lagging behind in it than other parts of the country.
