QUETTA: The Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch has categorically stated that the development of Balochistan and prosperity of its people depends on acquiring quality education, so our youth has to focus on that in order to achieve the desired goals ahead.
This, he stated while talking to a group of gold medalist students of University of Balochistan (UoB) here the other day.
The Chief Minister said that if due attention had been given towards education, the entire educational environment would have been quite different.
He said that the course of development in Balochistan passes through education. He also said that the present century is the century of education and technology.
The nations, which would pay due attention towards education, would succeed only, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch stressed adding that our youth have to realize that fact.
The Chief Minister on the occasion also mentioned that the Balochistan Endowment Fund has been formed with the amount of Rs. 5 billion.
Our very focus is on promotion of quality education in the province, he maintained.
The members of the delegation praised the steps taken and being taken by Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch led provincial government for the cause of education in the province.
They also termed the appointment of teachers through NTS as a wise decision of the provincial government.
They also appreciated performance of the Public Service Commission saying that the deserving candidates are getting their due rights now.
Meanwhile, talking to the Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), Qazi Azmat Essa, who called on him here the other day, the Chief Minister said that poverty and backwardness is at its extreme in the province as such the national and international organizations are ought to play their effective role in improving economic condition of the masses.
The Chief Minister on the occasion suggested that there is a need to set up technical training centers at the Union Council level to impart technical training to the people. It would help the people get jobs in a better way, he said.
The Chief Minister on the occasion also referred to the local governments brought into being in the province saying that they would help resolve problems of the masses at their doorstep.
He sought the cooperation of the international relief agencies for provincial government to help the local bodies build their capacity.
Qazi Azmat Essa briefed the Chief Minister about the role of PPAF in poverty alleviation from the province.
