QUETTA: The Quetta district administration is endeavoring to provide maximum relief to the people in terms of availability of the edibles and other daily used commodities at the cheaper rates particularly during the holy month of Ramadanul Mubarak.
In this regard, sasta bazaars have been set up in different parts of the province, stated the Deputy Commissioner Quetta and Chairman Price Control Committee, Dawood Khan Khilji during visit of sasta bazaar and the stalls of the Utility Stores there.
Also present on the occasion were the Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue, Yasir Khan Bazai,
Assistant Commissioner Quetta City, Tariq Javed Mengal and others.
The Deputy Commissioner said that different edibles and other commodities including the meat, chicken are being sold at the sasta bazaar cheaper rates than the market.
He said that the basic objective behind setting up of sasta bazaar is to provide relief to the masses and make available all the essential commodities and edibles at a single platform for the buyers during the holy month.
The Deputy Commissioner mentioned that in a recent meeting of the Price Control Committee, it had been assured by the traders organizations to cooperate with the administration in provision of cheater and qualitative edibles during the month of Ramadan.
He said that it had also been decided to take stern action against those involved in profiteering and looting the customers.
The profiteers would be arrested and their shops would be sealed under the Profiteering Act, he asserted.
The edibles and other items to be sold in violation of the official price list would be auctioned in public.
No one would be spared in this regard, Dawood Khilji warned.
He also directed to make available all the necessary items at the Utility Stores so that the people may benefit from the Ramadan Package in a big way.
In this regard, the Utility Stores are being inspected on regular basis while their stock is also being checked on daily basis so as to ensure an uninterrupted supply of the edibles and other essential items to the public there, he said.
