Deputy Mayor terms water shortage as most critical issue facing Quetta city

QUETTA: The Deputy Mayor Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC), Muhammad Younas Baloch has termed the water shortage as one of the most important issue of Quetta city.
He was talking to a delegation from the city area, who called on him here the other day.
The Deputy Mayor said that the Quetta city is facing numerous issues these days, however, the shortage of water is one of the most important amongst them.
He said that all councilors of the Metropolitan Corporation have been directed to visit their respective constituencies and pay special attention towards the issue of water.
The councilors should pay special attention towards the issue so that the people of their areas may not face problems in this regard, Muhammad Younas Baloch stressed.
He was confident that the issue of water crisis would be overcome soon.
The Deputy Mayor mentioned that the development funds have been released to all the councilors so that the necessary basic facilities are provided to the masses.
He said that we have sought proposals with regard to supply and distribution of water in the city so as to resolve the issue through judicious distribution of the same.
The Deputy Mayor also said that the non-functional tube wells would be made functional enabling them to supply water thus contributing to overcome the prevailing crisis.
Younas Baloch also said that he would take up the issue with the Chief Secretary and Managing Director of Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) by meeting them soon.
