call for awareness among women about
importance of Hijab; denounce Western
propaganda against wearing of veil

QUETTA: The World Youm-e-Hijab was observed by the Halqa-e-Khawateen (women wing) of Jama’at-e-Islami Balochistan here the other day.
A seminar was held marking the Youm-e-Hijab on the theme of “Hijab- my choice). The Member Provincial Assembly belonging to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Ms. Husan Bano Rakhshani was the chief guest at the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Rakhshani spoke at length about the importance of Hjiab for the women. She said that it is the day which reminds us the significance of the Hijab and motivates the women to adopt the veil.
Islam has given the women the honour through Hijab, so it is also an identity of the Muslim women, she maintained.
We in our Muslim society should encourage the women to wear Hijab as it also provides them complete protection and respect, she stressed.
She on the occasion condemned ban on Hijab in France, Holland and Denmark saying that it is condemnable to stop the Muslim women wearing Hijab.
The JI women leaders Ms. Asma Qazi and Parveen Abdul Wahab also addressed the seminar.
They denounced the western propaganda against the Hijab of women. They said that while the western world has unleashed a false propaganda against Hjiab, however, it is matter of immense satisfaction that its (Hijab) gaining popularity even in the western world, they maintained.
They also described ban on wearing of Hijab as the violation of human rights.
The JI women leaders also stressed the need to create awareness among the Muslim women to adopt Hijab as per their religious code.
Our women should be felt more empowered in Hijab, they stressed. They also called on the people to fully support the Hijab Day.
Needless to mention here is that the Hijab Day is observed in recognition of millions of Muslim women who choose to wear the hijab and live a life of modesty.
