Sports Week 2015 gets underway at Bolan Medical College

QUETTA: The Sports Week 2015 got underway in the Bolan Medical College here. An inaugural ceremony of the Week was held at the main ground of BMC the other day. Provincial Minister for Health, Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch was the chief guest.
Also present on the occasion were the Principal of BMC, Professor Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Lehri, Vice Principal BMC, Dr. Khan Muhammad Babar, Saleh Baloch and other concerned.
The chief guest and Principal BMC formally inaugurated the Sports Week by hitting the football.
Addressing the ceremony, the Minister Health said that it has been endeavour of the provincial government to promote healthy activities and sports in the province. For the purpose, different events are being organized, he added.
The Minister Health was pleased to see the celebrations of Sports Week in the Medical College and said that it is a matter of pleasure that the students are taking part in the sports activities in large number, he commended.
He also expressed his pleasure over the wholehearted participation of the students and the faculty in the sports. He announced Rs. 2 million for the College to carry on the sports activities.
The Minister also announced to up grade the BMC ground as a stadium besides establishing a convention center in the College.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, the Principal BMC said that we are endeavouring to provide opportunities to the students for participation in healthy activities.
We want that extra curricular activities are also organized in addition to the curricula ones so that the students may take wholehearted part in them.
Dr. Abdul Wakeel Shirani presented welcome address. He also spoke at length about the purpose behind Sports Week. He said that different sports competitions are being organized during the Week.
