Different sports contests marking Defence Day of Pakistan held

QUETTA: Different sports competitions were organized in connection with the Defence Day of Pakistan here the other day.
The competitions of the boxing, wrestling, gymnastic, snooker, basketball, marathon race and kyokushin karate were organized in which Nawabzada Sharif Khan Jogezai, Rauf Atta Advocate, Muhammad Sadiq Khilji, Hazrat Ali Kibzai and Atta Muhammad Kakar were the guests of honour.
The Chief Jury was comprised Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, Khuda Bakhsh Lashari, Muhammad Arshad Kasi and Sardar Bashir.
The judges / referees were: Syed Shafat Ali, Gul Muhammad, Ismail Bazai, Haider Khan, Shahid Zaman, Saleem Javed, Ishaq, Hayat, Abdullah, Abdul Qayum, Salahuddin, Shahzad Rana and Essa Agha.
Following are the result of different events:
Boxing: Muhammad Umair, Abdul Basit, Ehsanullah, Wali Muhammad, Jalal Khan, Ali Dost Muhammad Hassani stood first in the boxing competitions.
Wrestling: Muhammad Ashir, Tajuddin, Muhammad Ajmal, Najeebullah, Rahimullah, Muhammad Rafey, Ismail Agha and Naseer Khan remained first.
Marathon race: Ali Nawaz Mengal got first position while Abdul Wahid and Muhammad Waqas secured second and third positions respectively.
Gymnastic: Sabobar Khan, Abdul Razzaq, Naimat Ali and Dost Muhammad stood first.
Snooker: Samiullah Noorzai stood first while Muhammad Basit finished runner-up.
Basketball: Helper High School remained winner while Youth Club Junior got second position.
Speaking on the occasion, the guests appreciated participation of the large number of players in Defence Day sports competitions.
They underlined the need to create awareness among the masses especially our younger generation about the Defence Day, the day when we had defeated our bigger enemy in September 1965.
They said that the entire nation is united like the past and would remain united in future as well.
