BA adopts resolution on check, delay action dams

Balochistan Assembly has recommended for conducting detailed survey and provision of funds for building check dams and delay action dams in the province to preserve rain water. Ii would also end unrest and worries of zamindars.
The resolution was jointly tabled by PMAP MPAs Agha Liaqat Ali, Nasrullah Zeray, Abdul Majeed Achakzai, Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, William John Barkat, Mohtarma Spozmai Achakzai, Mohtarma Masooma Hayat and Mohtarma Arifa Siddiq.
It said it is a fact that Balochistan’s economy depends on agriculture and livestock. For the past several years drought and dry conditions agriculture and livestock has reached to the brink of collapse. In the absence of rains underground water level has also depleted to alarming level while thousands of tube wells have also deteriorated the situation.
Mohtarma Yasmeen Lehri (National Party), Aslam Bizenjo (National Party), Abdul Rehman Khetran (JUI-F), Mohtarma Ruqiah Hashmi (Muslim league), Prince Ahmed Ali (PML-N) and Sardar Raza Muhammad Barech also supported the motion.
When put to vote by Speaker Mohtarma Rahila Durrani the House adopted the resolution unanimously.
Two other resolutions of engineer Zamrak Achakzai (ANP) and Nasrullah Zeray (PMAP) could not be moved in the House due to the absence of members.
Later Speaker adjourned the House till Saturday.
