QUETTA July 21 (PPI): Under a conspiracy democracy was deteriorated and people were maligned from democracy and politics. Political and democratic institutions did not get opportunity to development through interference in political institutions by ending ideological politics among ethnic, racial and religious political groups.
People were fed on economic benefits of China Pak economic Corridor.
These views were made by writer intellectual Hakeem Baloch, Munir Ahmed Badini, Mahfooz Ali Khan, Siddiq Baloch, Shahzada Zulfiqar and author of book Nafeesa Hoodbhoy at the launching of her book here Thursday.
They said political leaders deprived of leadership abilities have failed to set political, economical and social targets for the country. On the other hand dictatorship and religious extremism caused massive losses for the country.
After creating of Pakistan in 1946 through Muslim votes people’s opinion was never honoured in the country with the result country’s politics, democracy and politicians are target of terrorism. After transparent elections of 1946 and 1971 policy makers decided not to hold transparent election and this practice was underway as yet. And there was no true democracy in the country.
Speakers said though CPEC was being introduced as game changer and its economic benefits were being highlighted but facts are contrary to this. Country is faced with worst economic crisis. People are worried for economic future.
Linking coastal highway with super highway and building of 50 miles highway eastern rout has been opened and thus there is no need for Quetta-Zhob-DI Khan road. Balochistan and western route was being ignored constantly with regard to CPEC. One hospital and technical training centre has been given to boahcistan as part of western route.
Counting Boahcistan deprivations they were of the opinion provnce was getting only 400 mega watts of electricity against 1600 mw required. Twenty nine districts of the province are deprived of gas facility. Karachi-Taftan RCD highway announced in 1951 was yet to complete. Balochistan always deprived in the process of development.
They appreciated Nafeesa Hoodbhoiy for her efforts for covering democracy, democratic institutions and political parties role and situations in Karachi and boahcistan.
