Nasirabad division facing serious water crisis, people migrating: Umrani

QUETTA July 23 (PPI): there is serious water crisis in Nasirabad division, green belt of Balochistan compelled people to migrate to other places. It is because of Irrigation Department the area was giving look of destruction as it has failed to run canal system.
This was stated by former President PPP Balochistan and member Central Executive Committee Muhammad Sadiq Umrani while speaking with PPI here Saturday.
He said irrigation department has completely failed to run canal system in Nasirabad division where tow canals Kirthar and Pat Feeder flow receiving water from River Indus. But Irrigation department’s economic terrorism has deprived people of water as it has no capability to run canal system. With the result lakhs of acres of land have turned barren forcing people to migrate.
He said besides there was theft of irrigation water through illegal water courses
Sadiq Umrani said he had a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha here yesterday and apprised them of the grave situation in his area. He asked them to pay attention on the situation and restore canal system or it would give birth to terrorism and crimes.
He also appealed to Commander Southern Command Lt General Aamer Riaz to interference in the economic terrorism of Irrigation Department in Nasirabad division and pay attention to improve water situation.
