QUETTA Oct 4 (PPI): Supreme Court of Pakistan has termed August 8 incident in Quetta as security lapse and inefficiency.
Apex Court gave these remarks during hearing of August 8 incident at SC registry at Balochistan High Court here Tuesday.
A three member bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali was hearing Quetta incident.
Expressing anger Supreme Court asked Chief Secretary, Secretary Health and MS why no action has been taken yet dispute such a major incident and why MS has not been suspended after admitting failure.
During hearing of the case Chief Secretary, IG Police and MS Civil Hospital filed their reports. Court declared incident as security lapse and inefficiency.
It also expressed anger over non activation of Trauma Centre of the hospital. Court asked Attorney General to read inquiry report. Report clearly said that MS did not cooperate. After report why MS was not suspended as he has committed a crime. He should be placed under suspension immediately. Are you removing MS or we should expel him Court inquired. Court also remarked Security guards of the hospital did not had weapons. Why MS had kept list of doctors.
About trauma centre Court said they have visited personally trauma centre not a single needle was there. There were six computers at the ultra sound room. There was no chair at the waiting hall.
Chief Justice said that activation of Trauma Centre was ordered on 20 th of last moth why it was inactive yet.
Court asked Chief Secretary when Secretary Health posit is of Cadre Post why a non cadre was posted. Chief Secretary told we send summary of notification to Chief Minister. Court said why we should not issue contempt of court notice against you.
Chief Justice asked when there was nothing at the trauma Centre what was the need for its inauguration. Court remarked trauma centre cannot be active so long all things are complete. Upon this Secretary Health expressed regret over inauguration of trauma centre despite its non completion.
Court said you have only one medical cell which is mere show piece.
Court asked there is no mention of Deputy Commissioner and District administration in the report of Chief Secretary and Police. What is their role. Where was DC, who is he and where is he.
In the meanwhile Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner appeared in the court and recorded their statements.
