SCSPEB implementing project with aim to foster a reading culture

QUETTA Oct 15 (PPI): Society for Community Strengthening and Promotion of Education Balochistan (SCSPEB) with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Small Grants Ambassador's Fund Program (SGAFP) is implementing a project with aim to foster a reading culture within 20 Government schools in Quetta & Sohbat Pur.

To achieve the aim SCSPEB with the support of USAID-SGAFP planned to organize inter school competitions for reading, speech, poster and sports (rope skipping and hulla hoop). These competitions will help to foster reading habits and skills among children at primary level as well as support to enhance the physical health, tolerance and friendly environment in primary level.

The event kicked off on 29th of September 2016 at GGMS Killi Shabo, Cluster of 5 schools GGMS Killi Shabo, GBPS FGS Colony, GGMS Labor Colony, GGMS Adam Khan, and GGPS Akber Khan Khaizi No. 2 participated. The teachers and students were facilitated with the refreshments.

Managing Director SCSPEB Irfan Ahmed Awan and Provincial Co-ordinator Qaiser Jamali from UNESCO were the guests of honor. Ms. Gul Bushra and Ms. Rashida Naz from Education Department, from SCSPEB Alam Sumalani judged the competition. The prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners of competition. They also declared a mile stone towards the creating the healthy attitude and as well as the reading culture in school.
