Raheela for financial independence for women
QUETTA, Nov 19 (APP): Acting Governor Balochistan, Ms. Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani has emphasized the need to take practical measures for financial independence for women. Women could get their rights protected by making them financially independent and strong. She said it was need of the hour to make role of women active in mainstream. We all will have to play our due role to ensure complete financial independence for women. She was addressing a ceremony held under non-governmental organization, Aurat Foundation, here Saturday. She stressed the need to launch campaigns to raise awareness on importance of women rights. "The society should avoid making role of women limited," she said adding goals of progress and prosperity could not be achieved until women were made part of mainstream to take part in development of the country. She said society would have to end taboos which put hurdles in participation of women in mainstream life. "The stakeholders will have to create space for women to take part in economic, trade and business activities," she added. She said she would continue her role for legislation on protection of rights of women. Later, she distributed certificates and prizes among participants of the ceremony.APP
