SSGC urges masses to adopt preventive measures
QUETTA, Nov 23 (APP): Religious scholars urged people to follow instructions of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to adopt preventive measures while using their gas heaters and stoves to avert any untoward incident in prevailing winter season.
They were addressing a seminar organized by SSGC at Quetta Press Club, here on Wednesday.
They including Maulana Anwarul Haque Haqqani, Maulana Mohib Agha, Maulana Abdul Rehman and others said that in past, several deaths had been reported due to gas leakage after people forgot turning off their gas heaters in night in winter season. “People must follow instructions of SSGC which emphasized for turning off gas heaters before sleeping to avert any untoward incident,†they said.
They suggested the SSGC officials to include specific chemical in natural gas which indicated gas leakage. They urged people to avoid stealing natural gas being supplied by SSGC as saying theft is a sin.
A senior official of SSGC, Nisar Ahmed Sheikh said that they would welcome proposals and suggestions regarding bringing further improvement in supply of natural gas. “We are taking practical measures to facilitate consumers regarding gas supply,†he said. Another senior official of SSG, Agha Muhammad Baloch said that steps were being taken to address complaints received from consumers.
