Iranian Navy arrest 10 fishermen, 2 boats

JEWANI (Gwadar) Nov 29 (PPI): Iranian Navy arrested ten fishermen along with two boats from open sea in Jewani waters and took them to Iran.

According to details ten fishermen in their two boats were busy in fishing in open sea near Jewani. Jewani is about 70 Km West of Gwadar. Iranian Navy took these fishermen and their boats to Iran.

It is added that Iranian Navy and official very frequently arrest Pakistani fishermen and capture their boats and speed boats and taken them to Iran. They impose a fine of 5000 Toman per day for these boats and speed boats while their nets and other goods are destroyed. These goods remain in their custody for pretty long time upto one year. Later these fishermen are handed over to FIA at Taftan board. From Taftan to their destinations in Gwadar, Jewani and Pasni take 7 to 10 days to reach.

Fishermen of the area have appealed to the high ups of Pakistan to take notice of the situation which was continuing for several years. Despite repeated requests, protests no action has been taken yet.
