Trauma centre activated: Health Minister

QUETTA Dec 5 (PPI): Trauma Centre at civil hospital has been activated and during past one and half months 481 patients have been provided medical facilities at this centre. Modern CT Scan machine has been installed at the centre where 52 people have been scanned during three days only.

This was stated by Provincial Health Minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch while speaking with Journalists at the inaugural ceremony of installation of Oxygen plant and CT Scan machine at civil hospital here Monday.

Rehmat Baloch said more machinery was in the process of purchase which would be provided shortly. During one and half months 481 patients were bought to Trauma Centre including 100 extremely serious cases who were provided complete facilities of treatment.

Similarly added that 2423 patients were provided lab tests, 95 ultrasound, 400 patients x-rays, CT scan for 52 patients and 207 were provided blood bags.

He said CT scan machine installed at the civil hospital was latest machine and people would be provided free scan.

Similarly he added that after becoming functional Oxygen plant would fill 100 cylinders daily which would also be provided to other hospitals of the province besides in Quetta free of cost. Previous millions were needed for purchase of oxygen.

Secretary Health Noorul Haq told that soon trauma Centre at Bolan Medical College hospital would also be made functional. It has been endeavour fo the government to ensure better facilities of treatment to the people at the government hospitals.

Rehmat Saleh Baloch told that a doctor died in Karachi hostel fire was Dr Hassan Lashari who had gone to Karachi for his work.
